Spring Joint Application 2025 for the English Degree Programs
Application period: 8 January 2025 at 8 am - 22 January 2025 at 3 pm local time in Finland. Check the local time in Finland in the Time and Date service.
The Finnish Joint Application is a national application procedure the Finnish educational institutions use when selecting new students. A potential student can apply to up to six (6) higher education degree programmes offered in English. These 6 options may include degree programmes from one or several different higher education institutions.

Application fee
From January 2025 onwards there is going to be an application fee of 100 euros. The application fee is collected for applicants from countries outside EU/EEA seeking education leading to a degree in higher education. The Finnish National Agency of Education will collect the application fee in connection with filling in the Studyinfo application form. The application fees are introduced for applications starting 1 January 2025 and onwards, when applying for degree programmes beginning on or after 1 August 2025. There is no application fee for Finnish or EU citizens.

Autumn Joint Application
The autumn joint application is aimed at those wishing to apply for an education leading to a higher education degree in Finnish or English. Joint Application is a national application procedure the Finnish higher education institutions use when selecting new students. In Joint Application you can apply to up to six (6) higher education degree programmes with one application form. The next application period will begin on 1 September 2025 at 8 am and end on 11 September 2025 at 3 pm (local time in Finland).
Separate Application for International Degree Programmes
The Separate Application for International Degree Programmes is aimed at those wishing to apply for an education leading to a higher education degree in English. This application procedure is used by Metropolia when selecting new students on the basis of a SAT test, foreign qualification and/or international pathway studies such as the Edunation Pathway Diploma. The next application period will begin on 31 December 2024.
Application on the Basis of Metropolia’s Open UAS Studies
The Application on the Basis of Metropolia’s Open UAS Studies is aimed at those who have completed open UAS studies at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Application period is twice a year and takes place between (for some degree programmes the application period may end earlier than mentioned below):
- 1st of May - 31st of October at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
- 1st of November - 30th of April at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
Application on the Basis of Finnish Higher Education Studies
The Application on the Basis of Finnish Higher Education Studies is aimed at those who have completed higher education studies in Finland. Application period is twice a year and takes place between (for some degree programmes the application period may end earlier than mentioned below):
- 1st of May - 31st of October at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
- 1st of November - 30th of April at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
Transfer Application
The transfer application is aimed at those enrolled in studies leading to a Finnish higher education degree who wish to transfer their valid study rights from one Finnish higher education institution to Metropolia or within Metropolia from one degree programme to another, so that the degree title changes. Application period is twice a year and takes place between:
- 1st - 15th of May at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
- 1st - 15th of November at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
