The instructions on this site are for applying to Metropolia's English language degree programmes. You can find application instructions for degree programmes in Finnish by changing the language of the site to Finnish and by choosing e.g. syksyn yhteishaku.

Autumn Joint Application 2025

The next application period will begin on 1 September 2025 at 8 am and end on 11 September 2025 at 3 pm (local time in Finland).

Application instructions for the autumn Joint Application will be published by the end of May.

Other applying possibilities

Spring Joint Application I

The first joint application of spring is aimed at those wishing to apply for an education leading to a higher education degree in English. Joint Application is a national application procedure the Finnish higher education institutions use when selecting new students. In Joint Application you can apply to up to six (6) higher education degree programmes with one application form. The next application period is 8 – 22 January 2025 at 3 pm (local time in Finland).

Separate Application for International Degree Programmes

This application process is designed to supplement the national Joint Application with student selection methods other than entrance examination. This flexible separate application (i.e. rolling admission) takes place twice a year as follows (for some degree programmes the application period may end earlier than mentioned below):

Studies starting in autumn term 2025 or before:

  • 31 December - 30 April at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
  • 1 August - 31 September at 3 pm (local time in Finland)

Studies starting in autumn term 2026 or after:

  • 1 December - 31 March at 3 pm (local time in Finland) *
  • 1 April - 31 July at 3 pm (local time in Finland) *

* preliminary information, rights for changes reserved until the beginning of the application period.

Application on the Basis of Metropolia’s Open UAS Studies

This application process is aimed at those who have completed non-degree studies at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (e.g. Metropolia's Pathway, Diploma or Open UAS studies) accreditable towards the degree programme being applied for. This flexible separate application (i.e. rolling admission) takes place twice a year as follows (for some degree programmes the application period may end earlier than mentioned below):

  • 1st of May - 31st of October at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
  • 1st of November - 30th of April at 3 pm (local time in Finland)

Application on the Basis of Finnish Higher Education Studies

This application process is aimed at those who have completed Finnish higher education studies accreditable towards the degree programme being applied for. This flexible separate application (i.e. rolling admission) takes place twice a year as follows (for some degree programmes the application period may end earlier than mentioned below):

  • 1st of May - 31st of October at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
  • 1st of November - 30th of April at 3 pm (local time in Finland)

Transfer Application

This application process is aimed at those enrolled in studies leading to a Finnish higher education degree who wish to transfer their valid study rights from one Finnish higher education institution to Metropolia or within Metropolia from one degree programme to another, so that the degree title changes. This separate application takes place twice a year as follows:

  • 1st - 15th of May at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
  • 1st - 15th of November at 3 pm (local time in Finland)
