Data Subject Access Request Form (also used for erasure request).

What Rights do you have as a Data Subject?

You have a right to:

  • Access to personal data upon request
  • Obtain the rectification of inaccurate personal data
  • Obtain the erasure of personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Obtain the restriction of processing
  • Object the processing of personal data
  • Transmit the personal data, which you have provided to a controller, to another controller
  • Withdraw consent at any time, if the processing is based on consent
  • Not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling
  • Not to be a subject of a personal data breach

To exercise your rights, you must:

  • Submit the registered Data Subject Access Request Form, signed by hand (also used for erasure request), to one of Metropolia's Student and Admission Services Offices and at the same time prove your identity in some reliable way (e.g. with an official identity card such as a passport or a photo ID. Metropolia also accepts a driving license as well as a so-called mobile driving license when identifying the data subject).
  • Exercising the data subject's rights requires a personal visit to the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (in the future, Metropolia also strives to create a strong electronic identification service that would enable the data subjects rights to be exercised electronically).

The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman, if they consider that the processing of personal data in Metropolia concerning them has violated the applicable data protection legislation.
