The goal of the project is to improve and accelerate the entry into working life of young people under 30 who have graduated in audiovisual fields. Additionally, the goal is to identify the competence needs of employers and to create operating models for supporting employment of youths during and after studies. At the same time, solutions are being sought for the competence and labour shortage in the AV sector.
The objective is for 50% of the youths participating in the project to have found employment in the open labour market after their participation.
”Re:connect – From Studies to Working Life” is an European Social Fund project carried out by Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
Project's goals and target groups
Main target group are unemployed people under 30, who have recently completed a degree in the field of media and AV, and who are trying to start their working career. The target group includes also companies operating in the AV sector, which participate in the survey of competence needs and the piloting of the trainee programme.
The project has three substantive operations:
- Survey of the competence needs of employers in the AV sector
- Participants' career and competence mapping
- Development of job opportunities aimed at recent graduates in AV companies (trainee programme).
As a result of the project, information about the competences and competence needs, as well as a trainee programme model supporting employment will be created.
The project is based on the needs observed during ”Re:act – Professional Networks for Youth” project. It will be carried out by Metropolia UAS in cooperation with employers in the AV sector, Virittämö / Helsinki Vocational College and Helsinki Employment Services. The implementation period is 1.12.2022–30.11.2023.
