Moving to Finland to study creativity was the right choice
Xanthippi Panagiotou moved to Finland to study in Creativity and Arts in Social and Health Fields Master's Programme. Xanthippi tells about her journey:
"I am from Greece, and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. After graduating in 2019, I have been working as an occupational therapist in different health centers in Athens.
Creativity plays a major role in the values and practices of occupational therapy. As a professional, I have always been using a more creative approach to therapy - incorporating art-related activities, like drama, crafts, photography and painting. That is why when I discovered the CRASH Master’s degree, I knew that it was the right thing for me. And then suddenly I found myself in Helsinki for the first time.
Coming to Helsinki for studies was a life-changing experience for me. It made me grow not only as a professional, but as a person too. The highlights of being a CRASH student were the community that we built with my amazing classmates and with the wonderful teachers. The creativity was always blooming in our courses. I always felt welcomed in the class and the teachers were always there for me.
Living in Finland can be challenging due to the weather and the lack of light during winter, but there are also many activities for an international student to experience. Finland will always have a place in my heart and I am happy to say that these studies made me more creative than ever."
