The career monitoring survey is open 13.10. – 9.11.2022

Now it is time to answer the national career monitoring survey of universities of applied sciences! The survey is open from 13 October 9 November 2022. The survey is led by the Ministry of Education and Culture as well as the Finnish National Agency for Education and is guided by the ethical principles approved by the Rectors’ Conference of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences Arene.

The survey aims to gather information on the employment of graduates, their career paths and the general expertise needed in the world of work that is common to different fields. One of the objectives of the national survey is also to produce information on whether the university of applied sciences’ graduates have been satisfied with their careers and education. The nationwide survey results are important in evaluating the quality and development needs of education in higher education institutions.

The target group of the career monitoring survey are those who graduated (both Bachelor's and Master's degrees) from a university of applied sciences five years ago. Therefore, the career monitoring survey was sent on 13 October by e-mail and text message to all students who graduated in 2017.

Your answers help to develop teaching

Answering the survey is truly important because by telling your story, it is possible to help present and future students in their career choices and to have an impact on the development of higher education in Finland. The survey provides information on the employment opportunities of alumni, the career opportunities provided by the degree and the working life correspondence of the studies. Higher education students and applicants get up-to-date information for planning their future careers and support for their own employment, which gives them a better starting point to the job market after graduation.

Furthermore, higher education institutions can make use of the data in the development of education and the promotion of student employment at the regional and national levels. Therefore, universities of applied sciences like us at Metropolia, hope that as many graduates as possible share their experiences of their studies and career. We would highly appreciate that you complete the survey!
