Anna-Stina Tähkävuori, Innovation Director at Metropolia’s Smart and Creative City innovation hub, has been appointed as a member of the Built4People Partnership Board for a two-year term starting in February 2025.
Built4People is a European partnership under Horizon Europe that brings together key stakeholders across the entire value chain to drive people-centric innovation in the built environment. Its goal is to accelerate the transition toward climate-neutral, sustainable, and smart urban spaces.
The Built4People Partnership Board serves as the primary forum for strategic guidance and decision-making. It includes representatives from the European Commission and its two private partners, ECTP (The European Construction and sustainable built environment Technology Platform) and WorldGBC Europe (World Green Building Council Europe). In total, the board consists of 24 representatives from these organizations.
According to Anna-Stina Tähkävuori, this appointment strengthens Metropolia’s international influence and enhances its role in shaping the future of sustainable cities:
“Being part of this collaboration network is an incredible opportunity to contribute to a people-centric, climate-neutral, and sustainable built environment. It allows for knowledge exchange, strategic influence, and impactful change alongside leading experts and key partners. This partnership supports our Smart and Creative City’s mission to drive innovation, develop new solutions, and foster climate-neutral urban transformation.”
Through Built4People, partners co-program EU research and innovation funding in Cluster 5, ensuring that investments focus on projects that accelerate decarbonization and the people-centric transformation of Europe’s built environment sector.
