Gamified Cohousing and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences are launching a new innovative mobile application for facility management
A Finnish start up Gamified Cohousing is renovating abandoned buildings into gamified economies. For this they have developed together with Metropolia’s software engineering students a new innovative mobile application. The application is a Game for facility management, like The Sims but for real!
Gamified Cohousing and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences decided to turn the app development project into an innovation course with 10 study credits. A total of ten 4th year software engineering students signed up for the project. The goal was to develop a gamified co-housing mobile application for the facility management of houses.
“Partnerships between private and public sectors should be harvested more. The aim of this collaboration was to further develop the app and eventually find students who understand the importance of our work, and maybe wish to work with us in the future”, says Gamified Cohousing’s CEO Pedro Aibéo.
“Working with real company cases benefits both the students and companies. Real company cases give students valuable working experience directly with the end users. It also gives companies fresh new ideas and solutions from students. Metropolia’s software engineering students have done a great job in fulfilling the client’s vision and I'm proud of the whole team”, says Senior Lecturer Heini Puuska.
Gamified Cohousing and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences are now ready to present the results in a public event held at Metropolia Myyrmäki Campus.
