We organize Metropolia's first Alumni gala, where we celebrate Metropolia's alumni and announce the first Alum of the Year. The program entails interesting discussions, radiant artists and musical performances, as well as the opportunity to tour the campus and meet other alumni and Metropolia's staff over cocktail appetizers and sparkling.

Keynote Speaker: Emma Kimiläinen
Racing car driver, media personality, Dancing with the Stars 2023 competitor. Graduated as a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Business Administration degree Programme in 2012.
Jepa Lambert
Jepa Lambert, soul singer, known e.g. from the Song of My Life television series. Graduated as a musician from the Degree Program in Music in 2012 and graduated also as an engineer from the Degree Program in Media Engineering in 2006.
Metropolia's student duo
Risto Kauppinen - Ilari Mäkelä
Risto Kauppinen, tenor saxophone and Ilari Mäkelä, piano.
They study at the jazz department of Sibelius Academy and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
Alumni finalists and panelists of the year
Fadumo Ali
Hoiwa Ltd, entrepreneur, CEO and a nurse. Fadumo is the founder of Hoiwa Ltd, a company that provides health care professionals with the aim of solving nursing shortage crisis in Finland. Fadumo has been selected for the Top 100 Healthcare influencers year 2021 and for Espoo's Entrepreneur of the Year 2022. Graduated as a nurse from the Public Health Nursing degree programme in 2013.
Kimmo Kalaja
ABB Ltd, Local Division Manager. Kimmo is an active alumnus and collaborates closely with Metropolia. He shares his expertise and enables Metropolia students to get acquainted with ABB as a workplace. Graduated as a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Business Administration degree programme in 2020 and as an engineer from the YAMK Master's Degree programme in Business Informatics in 2022.
Rosa Kettumäki
YLE Ltd, journalist, TV presenter and media expert. She has hosted TV and radio programs e.g. Morning TV and A-studio. Currently she hosts the media-critical program Viimeinen sana (Last Word). In her work, she boldly discusses society's important topics. Graduated as a Bachelor of Culture and Arts from the Film and Television degree programme in 2016.
Joni Tammisalo
Founding member and Chairman of the Mummodisko Board ("Grannydisco ry"). Mummodisco's slogan: "Come as you are and be as old as you feel" reflects well the phenomenon that delights elderly people with music and genuine encounters. Graduated as an Elderly Care Professional from the Elderly Care Degree Programme in 2018.
