Metropolia University of Applied Sciences is one of the most international universities of applied sciences in Finland. Our aim is to equip our students with the skills needed in international, multicultural working environments and networks. Metropolia offers degrees in four fields of study (technology, health care and social services, culture and business), which allows us to educate international professionals for the society as a whole.
International activities at Metropolia include international degree programmes, student and teacher mobility, work placement opportunities abroad, international projects and diverse internationalization at home opportunities, for example. English-language tuition as well as international degree students, lecturers and exchange students create a genuinely international work and study environment at Metropolia. Our employees regularly visit our international partners and have an understanding of different cultural backgrounds. Most of the teaching is practical and project-based, which facilitates creative teamwork between students from diverse backgrounds. This leads to both innovative problem-solving and personal growth for students.
Metropolia has 15 international degree programmes in which the language of instruction is English. Over 1400 international degree students, who represent more than 90 different nationalities, study at Metropolia every year. In addition to the international degree students, Metropolia welcomes around 320 exchange students every year from partner institutions of higher education from all over the world.
